Here Be Monsters

Francesc Ruiz Abad

5 – 31 March 2026

The story

TØN is pleased to announce our new exhibition Here Be Monsters by Catalan artist Francesc Ruiz Abad, curated by Anna Penalva. This marks the second time Francesc’s work has been exhibited in Dublin, and we’re delighted to welcome him back. Here Be Monsters is an immersive, site-specific installation exploring marine mythologies, medieval bestiaries, and collective cultural imaginaries. Through ceramics and wall drawings, the exhibition reflects on image-making, colonisation, and fantasy—linking Mediterranean and Irish traditions through sensory, colourful storytelling and a critical engagement with the sea’s symbolic and ecological meanings.

Tøn exists for art that stays open — work that questions more than it concludes. We look for contemporary artists who are honest about the search, not just the result. We're always open to those we haven't met yet.
