Pepe Carretero, born in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, is a painter who represents in his works the life he knows, without following the trends of the cultural world. His creations transport us to a unique and personal world, where he mixes traditional realistic forms with a peculiar European figuration. His paintings are imbued with dreamlike and autobiographical moments, capturing magical and poignant instants from his memory. He has had numerous solo exhibitions at venues such as the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, the Galería Luis Gurriarán in Madrid, the Museo López Torres in Ciudad Real and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Almería. His work forms part of important collections, such as the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Museo de Santa Cruz in Toledo, and the Academia de Bellas Artes in Rome, among others.
